The Climate Rescue Accord started in June 2023 as a conversation on climate policy between individuals from four federally-registered Australian parties. The resulting Accord working group committed to:

• Pursuing what was required to stop and reverse warming with the ultimate goal of restoring a safe climate.
• Building a comprehensive suite of policy options that underpin the 3Rs, reduce, remove and repair.
• Encouraging other political players from grassroots to MPs, to endorse the 3Rs and adopt and advocate for commensurate policies to underpin the 3Rs.​

The Climate Rescue Accord Working Group comprises representatives from political parties that support the accord and are adopting policies commensurate with the vision to stop and reverse global heating. Parties to date include the Animal Justice Party, The Australian Progressive Party and Fusion Party.
